About:
I became interested in crop art after my first exposure at the MN State Fair, after being an admirer from afar, I decided to try my hand at it for the first time in 2004.
I entered my first piece in the State Fair and won a 3rd place ribbon, and have been hooked ever since.
I have gone on to enter the fair annually since then and have had created pieces for myself as well as commissioned pieces.
I have worked doing cover designs for VitaMN, Growler, and other magazines, as well as many personal and commercial commissions.
I have also been involved in teaching crop art workshops at The Walker Arts Center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, as well as multiple classes working with children as well as adults.
I am interested in exploring Crop Art as a regional art style and attempting to elevate it's status from a State Fair novelty to be recognized as a form of fine art.
All of my pieces are made entirely from seeds found in their natural state, and mostly consist of seeds found in Minnesota complying with State Fair Rules.
